Managing Project Files

Overview


Welcome to the Project Files section, your central hub for all project documents and information! Think of it as your project's dedicated Google Drive or Dropbox.


Here's what you need to know:

  • Centralized Storage: all files related to your project are securely stored in one place, making it easy for everyone on the team to access them.
  • Organized Folders: We've set up a default folder structure to help you get started, but feel free to customize it to suit your project's specific needs.
  • Collaboration: Share files and collaborate seamlessly with team members, ensuring everyone has the most up-to-date information.

Whether it's contacts, drawings, specifications, or photos. The Project Files keeps everything organized and accessible, streamlining your communication and ensuring project success.


In this article, you will learn how to manage your project files. Here's a breakdown of the following project file management features:

  • Create, Delete, and Rename Folders
  • Upload Files
  • Download, Move, Copy, and Delete Files


Create, Delete, and Rename Folders

This section will guide you on how to manage project folders. You can create folders and sub-folders to organize and classify your project files properly.


Creating Folders

  1. Ensure that you are logged in to your RForm account.
  2. In the Open Projects list, find and select the Project you want to update.


  3. Click the Project Files tab to open.


  4. In the Choose a Folder... panel, click the New Folder button.


  5. The folder name field will appear, enter the Folder Name.


  6. After specifying the folder name, click Save.


It is worth noting that you can create sub-folders using the same method but you need to select a Folder first before clicking the New Folder button.


Deleting Folders

  1. Ensure that you are logged in to your RForm account.
  2. In the OpenProjects list, find and select the Project you want to update.


  3. Click the ProjectFiles tab to open.


  4. Find the Folder that you want to delete and select its Checkbox.

    • Note: once you select a folder, the Delete button will be enabled along with other options.
  5. Click the Delete button.
  6. A Confirmation dialog box will appear. Click Remove to continue deleting the selected folder.


Renaming Folders

  1. Ensure that you are logged in to your RForm account.
  2. In the OpenProjects list, find and select the Project you want to update.


  3. Click the ProjectFiles tab to open.


  4. Find the Folder that you want to rename and select its Checkbox.

    • Note: once you select a folder, the Rename button will be enabled along with other options.
  5. Click the Rename button.
  6. A Rename dialog box will appear. Enter the new name of the selected folder and click the Rename button.


Upload Files

This section will guide you on how to upload files to your RForm account and a specific folder.

  1. Ensure that you are logged in to your RForm account.
  2. In the OpenProjects list, find and select the Project where you want to upload the files.


  3. Click the ProjectFiles tab to open.


  4. Find and select the Folder where you want to upload the files.


  5. Click the Upload button to open the Uploader panel.
  6. Drag and Drop the Files in this panel or use the Browse link to manually search for the files from your device.


Download, Move, Copy, and Delete Files

This section will guide you on how to download, move, copy, and delete existing files.


Downloading Files

  1. Ensure that you are logged in to your RForm account.
  2. In the Open Projects list, find and select the Project where the file is saved.


  3. Click the Project Files tab to open.


  4. Find and select the Folder where the file is saved.


  5. Find the file that you want to download and select its Checkbox.
    • Note: once you select a folder, the Download button will be enabled along with other options.
  6. Click the Download button.

  7. The selected file will be downloaded to your device's Download Folder.


Moving Files

  1. Ensure that you are logged in to your RForm account.
  2. In the Open Projects list, find and select the Project where the file is saved.


  3. Click the Project Files tab to open.


  4. Find and select the Folder where the file is saved.


  5. Find the file that you want to move and select its Checkbox.
    • Note: once you select a folder, the Move button will be enabled along with other options.
  6. Click the Move button.


  7. The MoveFiles window will appear. Select the DestinationFolder where you want to move the files to.


  8. Click the Move button.


Copying Files

  1. Ensure that you are logged in to your RForm account.
  2. In the Open Projects list, find and select the Project where the file is saved.


  3. Click the Project Files tab to open.


  4. Find and select the Folder where the file is saved.


  5. Find the file that you want to copy and select its Checkbox.
    • Note: once you select a folder, the Copy button will be enabled along with other options.
  6. Click the Copy button.


  7. The CopyFiles window will appear. Select the DestinationFolder to which you want to copy the files.


  8. Click the Copy button.


The original file will remain in the current folder but a copy will be added to the destination folder.


Deleting Files

  1. Ensure that you are logged in to your RForm account.
  2. In the Open Projects list, find and select the Project where the file is saved.


  3. Click the Project Files tab to open.


  4. Find and select the Folder where the file is saved.


  5. Find the file that you want to delete and select its Checkbox.
    • Note: once you select a folder, the Delete button will be enabled along with other options.
  6. Click the Delete button.


  7. A Confirmation dialog box will appear, click the Remove button to continue deleting the selected file.
